Regulation 3.2 AUSTRALIA PATENTS ACT 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION FOR AN INNOVATION PATENT ORIGINAL Name of Applicant: Mamaway Inc. Actual Inventor: Yi-Hung Tsai Address for Service: C/- MADDERNS, GPO Box 2752, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia Invention title: DUAL-PURPOSE BREAST FEEDING CLOTHES The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to us.
la DUAL-PURPOSE BREAST FEEDING CLOTHES BACKGROUND OF THE INNOVATION PATENT 1. Field of the Innovation patent The present innovation patent is related to an outer garment, and more 5 particularly to dual-purpose breast feeding clothes facilitating breastfeeding without causing inadvertent breast exposure and also serving as an ordinary dress. 2. Description of the Related Art According to medical reports, the nutrition of breast milk is more effective 10 than other dairy products in terms of the effect on growth and allergy resistance of infants. Thus, breastfeeding is highly recommended to women after delivery as the optimal way of feeding infants. Nursery rooms have already become commonplace in some venues, such as shopping malls, train stations, airports and the like, for the need of breastfeeding. However, it is inconvenient for a 15 woman wearing a conventional top to breastfeed in a place where the nursery room is not available. Additionally, breastfeeding in public is embarrassing or indecent for sake of possible breast exposure. SUMMARY OF THE INNOVATION PATENT An objective of the present innovation patent is to provide dual-purpose 20 breast feeding clothes facilitating breastfeeding without causing inadvertent breast exposure and also serving as an ordinary dress. To achieve the foregoing objective, the dual-purpose breast feeding clothes have an outer garment and a lining. The outer garment has a collar, a placket, two shoulders, two flanks and two 2 arm holes. The placket is formed on a front of the outer garment and extends downwardly from the collar. The shoulders are oppositely formed on an outside surface of the collar. Each flank being a side of the outer garment is formed between one of the shoulders and a bottom of the outer garment and has a top. 5 Each arm hole is a slit formed through the top of a corresponding flank and underneath one of the shoulders. The lining has two shoulder edges, two flank edges and two sleeve edges. The shoulder edges are respectively connected with the shoulders of the outer garment. The flank edges are respectively connected with the flanks of the outer 10 garment. An upper edge of each sleeve edge is connected with one of the shoulders of the outer garment, and a lower edge of each sleeve edge is connected with a middle portion of a corresponding flank so that a breach is formed between each sleeve edge and a corresponding arm hole. Besides serving as a regular dress, the dual-purpose breast feeding clothes 15 also serve breastfeeding when a woman puts on the breast feeding clothes with the lining in front of the woman's chest by passing the torso through a space between the lining and the outer garment and then passing each hand through a corresponding arm hole. The placket of the outer garment is moderately opened, and a breast can be slightly exposed through the breach to be in contact with an 20 infant's face and facilitate the infant's sucking breast milk. As the placket can moderately block the infant's head and woman's breast, the dual-purpose breast feeding clothes facilitate breastfeeding with considerable privacy. Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in 3 conjunction with the accompanying drawings. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS It is to be noted, however, that the appended drawings illustrate only typical embodiments of this application and are therefore not to be considered limiting 5 of its scope, for the application may be utilized in other equally effective embodiments. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS With reference to Figs. 1 and 2, a first embodiment of dual-purpose breast 5 feeding clothes in accordance with the present invention has an outer garment 10 and a lining 20. When not intending to breastfeed, a woman can put on the outer garment 10 as a regular dress with the lining 20 on the woman's back. With reference to Figs. 2 to 4, the outer garment 10 has a collar 100, a 10 placket 101, two shoulders 11, two flanks 12, two arm holes 13 and two sleeves 14. The placket 101 is formed on a front of the outer garment 10 and extends downwardly from the collar 100 to a portion below a wearer's chest. In the present embodiment, the placket 101 extends downwardly to a bottom of the outer garment 10 so that the outer garment 10 can be formed as a coat. The two 15 shoulders 11 are oppositely formed on an outside surface of the collar 100. Each flank 12 is a side of the outer garment 10 formed between one of the shoulders 11 and a bottom of the outer garment 10. Each arm hole 13 is a slit formed through a top of a corresponding flank 12 and underneath a corresponding shoulder 11. Each sleeve 14 is respectively formed on and protrudes from a corresponding 20 arm hole 13 and communicates with the arm hole 13. The lining 20 has two shoulder edges 21, two flank edges 22 and two sleeve edges 23. The shoulder edges 21 and the flank edges 22 are respectively connected with the shoulders 11 and the flanks 12 of the outer garment 10. An upper rim of each sleeve edge 23 is connected with a corresponding shoulder 11 5 of the outer garment 10, and a lower rim of each sleeve edge 23 is connected with a middle portion of a corresponding flank 22 so that the sleeve edges 23 are free from being connected with the arm holes 13 and a breach 230 is formed between each sleeve edge 23 and a corresponding arm hole 13. With reference to Fig. 5, 5 when intending to breastfeed, a woman can put on the outer garment 10 by passing the torso through a space between the lining 20 and the outer garment 10 and then passing each hand sequentially through a corresponding arm hole 13 and a corresponding sleeve 14. Meanwhile, as the lining 20 is located in front of the chest of the woman, the woman can moderately open the breach 230 of the 10 lining 20 to let a breast be slightly exposed and in contact with an infant's face so that the infant is able to suck. The placket 101 of the outer garment 10 can appropriately cover the head of the infant and the breast of the woman to secure a convenient operation with considerable privacy. Hence, women can be relieved from embarrassing exposure when breastfeeding. 15 With reference to Figs. 6 to 9, a second embodiment of dual-purpose breast feeding clothes in accordance with the present invention is shown, and the lining 20A has two ears 230A. Each ear 230A is formed on and protrudes from a middle portion of one of the sleeve edges 23A and is connected with a portion of a corresponding flank 12 underneath a corresponding arm hole 13 of the outer 20 garment 10 so that a first breach 23 1A is formed between a lower portion of the sleeve edge 23A and a corresponding flank 12 of the outer garment 10 and a second breach 232A is formed between an upper portion of the sleeve edge 23A and a corresponding arm hole 13. When not intending to breastfeed, a woman can put on the outer garment 10 6 as a regular dress by passing both hands respectively through the arm holes 13, and the lining 20A is located on a back of the woman. With reference to Fig. 10, when intending to breastfeed, the woman can put on the outer garment 10 by passing the torso through a space between the lining 20A and the outer garment 5 10 and then passing each hand sequentially through a corresponding second breach 232A, a corresponding arm hole 13 and a corresponding sleeve 14. Meanwhile, the lining 20A is located in front of the chest of the woman. Both hands of the woman respectively protrude beyond the sleeves 14 of the outer garment 10. With the placket 101 of the outer garment 10 moderately opened, a 10 breast can be slightly exposed through the first breach 23 1A to be in contact with an infant's face and facilitate the infant's sucking breast milk. As the placket 101 can moderately block the infant's head and woman's breast, the dual-purpose breast feeding clothes facilitate breastfeeding with considerable privacy. When a woman puts on the dual-purpose breast feeding clothes for 15 preparing to breastfeed but is not actually breastfeeding yet, since each ear 230A on a corresponding sleeve edge 23A is securely connected with a corresponding flank 12 underneath a corresponding arm hole 13, opening sizes and spaces defined by the first breach 23 1A and the second breach 232A do not easily vary so that the lining 20A can block women's breast or bra more effectively and 20 women can be more relieved to breastfeed in public without embarrassing or indecent exposure. With reference to Fig. 11, a third embodiment of dual-purpose breast feeding clothes in accordance with the present invention is shown. The placket 101A is a V-collar placket.
7 As each sleeve edge 23, 23A is not connected with a corresponding arm hole 13, 13A of the outer garment 10, 1OA to form a breach 230 or a first breach 23 1A and a second breach 232A, the dual-purpose breast feeding clothes serve breastfeeding when a woman puts on the breast feeding clothes with the lining 5 20, 20A in front of the woman's chest, and serve as a regular dress when the woman puts on the breast feeding clothes with the lining 20, 20A on the back of the woman, thereby achieving versatile and practical ways in wearing for women having the need of breastfeeding. Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present 10 innovation patent have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the innovation patent, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the innovation patent to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the 15 appended claims are expressed.
