In order to support the selection of a recipe for the user, according to the invention a plurality of recipes are stored in the kitchen appliance (1) or in a device (15) in data exchange with the kitchen appliance (1) so that the kitchen appliance (1) and/or the device (15) has a movement sensor and so that a recipe appears as a suggestion upon movement of the kitchen appliance (1) and/or the device (15). In an alternative configuration according to the invention, there is a random generator in the kitchen appliance (1) and/or the device (15) and a recipe can be selected as a suggestion by the random generator.

Description

1 Kitchen appliance The invention relates to a kitchen appliance with a mixing vessel and a blade unit located in the mixing vessel, the 5 mixing vessel being heatable. Kitchen appliances of this kind exist. Reference is made for example to DE 10 2007 059 236 Al. Reference is also made e.g. to EP 757 530 Bl, relating to a special preparation process, 10 further to EP 1 274 333 B1, relating to a heating device in a kitchen appliance. Kitchen appliances of the type described are for example designed to enable self-acting, in particular automatic, 15 processing of recipes, in which, in a program-controlled manner, in particular temperature and blade unit rotational speed, more particularly their activation times, are regulated automatically in dependence on the recipe. 20 In this regard, it is considered desirable to assist the user in the selection of a recipe. The above discussion of the background to the invention is intended to facilitate an understanding of the invention. 25 However, it should be appreciated that the discussion is not an acknowledgement or admission that any aspect of the discussion was part of the common general knowledge as at the priority date of the application. 30 The present invention provides a kitchen appliance with a mixing vessel and a blade unit located in the mixing vessel, the mixing vessel being heatable, and a multiplicity of recipes being stored in the kitchen appliance, wherein the kitchen appliance has a motion sensor, and wherein the kitchen 35 appliance la is so arranged that a recipe can be made to appear as a suggestion when the kitchen appliance is moved. Another aspect of the present invention provides for a system 5 consisting of a kitchen appliance with a mixing vessel and a blade unit located in the mixing vessel, the mixing vessel being heatable, and the system including a device that can exchange data with the kitchen appliance, the device being formed as a handheld unit, wherein a multiplicity of recipes 10 are stored in the kitchen appliance, that the device has a motion sensor, and wherein the system is so arranged that a recipe can be called up from a database provided in the kitchen appliance when the device is moved and can be shown on a display on the kitchen appliance. 15 WO 2011/069833 PCT/EP2010/068199 -2 This suggestion may appear based on a fixedly prescribed sequence. It may however also be selected at random. For this, it may then be provided that that 5 a random generator is located in the kitchen appliance and/or the device, the random generator then selecting a recipe in the event of movement in connection with a database that manages the recipes. 10 The movement event may be produced by shaking. It may also be engendered by a fast or slow linear movement, for example by tilting the kitchen appliance or the device about an axis of its body. In regard to the mobile device, in principle however also in regard to 15 the kitchen appliance itself, holding upside down can also trigger the suggestion. Preferably for automatic recipe selection, a movement of the kitchen appliance or the device out of a usual (operating) position is necessary. 20 The invention also relates to a kitchen appliance as set out at the beginning and is directed to the object of facilitating easy selection of a recipe. 25 For this, it is provided, as also already basically touched upon in the above connection, that a random generator is provided in the kitchen appliance and/or the device, and that a recipe can be selected as a suggestion by means of the random generator. Also in 30 this connection, it is again preferred that a multiplicity of recipes are stored in the kitchen appliance and/or the mobile device in the form of a database, and the selection takes place from this. The database is preferably held in a non-volatile memory. 35 WO 2011/069833 PCT/EP2010/068199 -3 Further features of the invention are described below, also in the description of the figures, often in their preferred association with claim concepts already explained above; they may however also be of importance 5 in association with one or more individual features which are described here, in particular of the claims already dealt with, or independently, or in another overall concept. It is also possible to provide the features of the claims already dealt with in a combined 10 manner. Thus it is further preferred that the device that can exchange data with the kitchen appliance is a handheld unit, such as for example a mobile telephone, a 15 smartphone, or a PDA, in another configuration a standalone unit, such as for example a PC or a notebook. The exchange of data between the device and the kitchen appliance takes place in one embodiment by way of a cable. More preferably, the exchange of data 20 is effected in a cable-free manner, thus more particularly by means of WLAN, WPAN, Bluetooth, or also for example by means of an infrared interface. Also direct contacting of the device with the kitchen appliance is possible for data transfer, thus for 25 example by use of a USB interface. Also data transfer by use of the internet or an intranet is preferably provided. Appropriate recipes may be held in the kitchen 30 appliance and/or in the device - preferably a mobile unit - as text and/or as image data and/or even also as a video clip. In this way, the images and the video clips serve to show the user what goes on during the processing of the recipe in the kitchen appliance 35 and/or to show the result. Moreover, the recipes contain corresponding data which can be transferred to WO 2011/069833 PCT/EP2010/068199 -4 the kitchen appliance and can be transmitted for carrying out and processing a recipe or called up within the kitchen appliance. 5 Preferably it is provided that by movement of the device, which is more preferably formed as a mobile unit, a recipe appears as a suggestion. For this, a database that has a multiplicity of recipes and is provided in the device is preferably accessible by 10 movement of the device, for example tilting or shaking. A sensor that suitably detects this device movement, for example shaking movement, triggers preferably a random generator, which then calls up, as a suggestion and on a random basis a recipe stored in the database. 15 In an alternative embodiment, a recipe is called up from a database provided in the kitchen appliance, as a result of such a device movement (for example a shaking movement) and optionally shown on the device; alternatively on a display on the kitchen appliance. 20 The recipe suggestion that appears, preferably on a display of the kitchen appliance or the device, randomly or on the basis of a fixedly prescribed sequence, is confirmed by the user if found acceptable, 25 optionally further adapted by way of suitably provided input assistance on the kitchen appliance and/or on the device. The recipe suggestion can be declined preferably by pressing a corresponding button, more preferably by again moving the kitchen appliance and/or 30 the device, which has the result that a new recipe suggestion is shown, More preferably, a specific recipe query is possible as well as the suggested, optionally random default recipe 35 resulting from movement of the kitchen appliance and/or WO 2011/069833 PCT/EP2010/068199 -5 the device, for example by way of a themed preselection (starters, noodle dishes, diet meals and so on). As recipe data, there is preferably shown to the user 5 information about ingredients (quantity, item, ingredient designation, descriptions and possible alternatives, preparation instructions with operational and control information for the kitchen appliance), preparation times, temperatures, time details and 10 rotational speeds, preferably set out in individual steps. In this way, moreover, several recipe steps can be brought together as process steps. Thus furthermore, for example several time-rotational speed temperature settings can be effected automatically by 15 the program until a new addition of ingredients by the user is required. The recipe data are stored in the database as guide data (designation, ingredients, quantities, item, 20 ingredient description, temperatures, times, rotational speeds). Likewise a preparation guide with the operational information is preferably held in the database. These data are preferably stored as text and/or image and/or sound and may be played back again 25 preferably as required. More preferably, the recipe data may be edited by the user, modification of the data being undertaken by the user before starting or alternatively even while the 30 program is running. As a result of the above-described stored data for each recipe, it is possible for the user to check a recipe in advance, especially a recipe selected at random from 35 the database, in particular initially for the availability of the ingredients prescribed for the WO 2011/069833 PCT/EP2010/068199 -6 recipe, also for example in regard to nutritional value and/or possible known allergies (for example in respect of a diet preparation). 5 In regard to the random generator, a random generator knob may also be provided in the kitchen appliance, which can therefore be separately actuated, in order to actuate the random generator and preferably thus then cause linked random selection of a recipe. Moreover, 10 this feature may also be assigned to an already existing switch, for example the turbo switch in the case of a kitchen appliance with a turbo-mixing unit setting possibility, or a lighting switch or the like; for example also in a combination of two buttons to be 15 pressed or turned. In regard to the movement triggering of the random generator, thus for example the shaking described, it may also be provided that for this a specific blade 20 unit setting, for example the turbo drive mentioned, is provided. Turbo derive means that on pressing a button, the blade unit is accelerated as fast as possible to a very high rotational speed, for example more than 1000 up to 10000 rev/min, all intermediate 25 values in the band width mentioned, in particular in numbers of rotations of 10 rev/min, to be taken to be disclosed. Then on account of actuation of the turbo button, the blade unit speed of rotation is also only kept in the high range mentioned as long as the button 30 remains pressed. For example, here also in combination with the pressing or turning of an additional button or an additional switch, the random recipe selection mentioned can be brought about also by the vibration generated for example by the turbo drive mentioned. 35 WO 2011/069833 PCT/EP2010/068199 -7 The invention is explained below with reference to the accompanying drawing which illustrates only one exemplary embodiment and in which: 5 Fig. 1 shows a front view of a kitchen appliance with a mixing vessel and an associated device in the form of a mobile unit; Fig. 2 shows an illustration of a display provided on 10 the kitchen appliance and/or on the device; Fig. 3 shows a sequence schematic for program functions and contents provided. 15 A kitchen appliance 1 is shown and described, which is also known as "Vorwerk-Thermomix". The kitchen appliance 1 has a mixing vessel, with a blade unit disposed on the base of the mixing vessel but not visible in the illustration. The mixing vessel 2 is 20 also heatable, for example by an electric resistance heater provided at the base of the mixing vessel (see for example EP 1 274 333 B1 mentioned at the beginning). 25 A display 3 is provided on the operator side of the device as is visible in Figure 1, in addition a rotary selector switch 4 for adjusting a blade unit speed. Also, actuation buttons 5 and 6 are provided for a time adjustment by way of the display. Furthermore, buttons 30 7 are provided, laid out in the shape of an arc, which enable a selection of temperature. In addition, switches 8 to 10 are preferably provided in order to trigger specific functions, such as a turbo-feature, a weighing feature, or the like. 35 WO 2011/069833 PCT/EP2010/068199 -8 Furthermore, a device 15 is illustrated in Figure 1. This is preferably a mobile handheld unit. This also has a display 16, possibly in the form of a touchscreen. In addition, operating buttons 17 are 5 provided on the device 15, in particular for navigation of the menu shown on the display 16, also for entering instructions. The device 15 is able to exchange data with the kitchen 10 appliance 1. For this, a cable-free connection is preferably provided, more preferably bi-directional communication. Still more preferably, a WLAN, WPAN or infra-red connection is provided, for which both the device 15 and the kitchen appliance 1 are equipped with 15 suitable transmitters and receivers. The mobile device 15 is provided with a movement sensor, not shown. This detects an in particular jerky movement of the device, for example a shaking movement 20 (shown by the arrow lines a in Figure 1). Figure 2 shows a possible display presentation for the kitchen vessel 1 itself and/or the mobile device 15, in which display presentation, visible under "recipes", 25 recipes stored as favorites, special features, settings which do not require to be changed on each occasion etc., may be selected. In the upper portion of the display 3, 16, a weighed portion amount 11 and/or a time setting 12 and/or a temperature setting 13 can be 30 shown. A symbol 14 can indicate that processing is going on. The display 3 of the kitchen appliance 1 is, in one configuration, formed as a touchscreen-screen, as is 35 more preferably also the display 16 of the mobile device 15.
WO 2011/069833 PCT/EP2010/068199 -9 Furthermore, along with recipes provided as standard, more preferably sub-divided into chapters, the display 3, 16 offers the possibility of selecting recipes at 5 random ("random recipes") . If this menu item is to be selected, there suffices a movement of the mobile device 15, preferably a shaking of the same, triggering a random selection of recipe from the recipe database as a result of corresponding detection by way of the 10 motion sensor. This database is held in the device 15 in a preferably non-volatile memory. Alternatively or even in addition to this, the database is stored in the kitchen appliance 1 and is transferred to the mobile device 15 by exchange of data when the appropriate menu 15 item is called up. As a further alternative, a signal is transmitted from the device 15 to the kitchen appliance 1 by suitable movement of the device 15, as a result of which a recipe is selected in a database held in the kitchen appliance and is sent back to the mobile 20 device 15. Instead of a random selection of recipes, a next recipe may also appear on the display 16 in a fixedly prescribed sequence, optionally also on the display 3 25 of the kitchen appliance 1. The user may accept the corresponding recipe suggestion, for example by switch actuation, whereupon the kitchen appliance 1 is correspondingly programmed 30 (this in particular in respect of choice of temperature, selection of speed of rotation, and time intervals). If the recipe suggestion is not acceptable to the user, the user requests a new recipe by once again moving (shaking) the mobile device 15. 35 WO 2011/069833 PCT/EP2010/068199 - 10 Figure 3 shows a possible selection from the chapters provided on the display 3 or 16, already mentioned with regard to Figure 2. Data is assigned to these chapters, in each case in the form of databases. The 5 chapter "random recipes" thus has sub-chapters similar to the chapter "recipes", for example containing recipes for soups, main dishes or also desserts. These sub-chapters may also be selected in the described "random recipe suggestion" feature, in order to thereby 10 narrow down the suggestions. Under the sub-chapter "all recipes", preferably a random recipe suggestion can be called up from the entire content of the database after suitable selection and movement of the mobile device 15. 15 The above-described features are moreover also triggerable solely by the kitchen appliance 1, for example in the manner that for random recipe choice after appropriate selection of the chapter in the 20 display 3, a for example shaking movement of the kitchen appliance 1 triggers a random generator, which correspondingly chooses a recipe as a suggestion and shows it on the display 3. 25 All features disclosed are (in themselves) pertinent to the invention. The disclosure content of the associated/accompanying priority documents (copy of the prior application) is also hereby included in full in the disclosure of the application, including for the 30 purpose of incorporating features of these documents in claims of the present application. The subsidiary claims in their optionally associated formulation characterize independent inventive development of the prior art, in particular to make divisional 35 applications based on these claims.
