Description

A corner connection The present invention relates to a corner connection, especially for a drawer, having a first wall element and a second wall element arranged at an angle thereto, wherein a connector is provided which can be mounted on the first wall element and comprises a receptacle for inserting the second wall element. DE 298 09 751 discloses an angle connector for boards, comprising two receptacles arranged at an angle which encompass a board on the face side. An inwardly facing web guiding the board is arranged on each receptacle. Tolerances are required when sliding in the board, so that such a corner connection is only suitable within limits for movable furniture parts such as drawers. In order to connect a side frame attachment with a rear wall in a drawer, a holding element is known from EP 1 516 561 which comprises a receptacle for inserting the side frame attachment. The holding element is then connected with a rear wall which is fixed to a post. The receptacle is adjusted to the shape of the side frame attachment and a separate connecting element needs to be provided for each frame attachment. EP 1 427 310 discloses a drawer with a removable side frame attachment, with a holding element for mounting the side frame attachment being provided on a rear wall. The side frame attachment is penetrated by an adjusting cam which is visible from the outside. The holding element is screwed or latched together with the rear wall. Such connecting means can transfer forces only within limits however. It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a corner connection by means of which two elements arranged at an angle can be connected in a stable manner with one another, wherein easy mounting can be performed. This object is achieved by a corner connection with the features of claim 1. In accordance with the invention, the corner connection comprises a connector for mounting a first wall element on a second element, in which a holding element can be inserted, by means of which the second wall element can be fastened to the connector. As a result, the second wall element, especially a side frame attachment of a drawer, can be mounted in a simple manner on the connector. The holding element can ensure fastening to the same irrespective of the material or the geometry of the second wall element, so that flexible and simple mounting is possible. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, at least one projection is arranged on the holding element, which projection engages in an opening in the second element since the holding element is especially used for mounting solid workpieces such as glass panes which are difficult to process, so that simple fixing by inserting a projection into this opening is possible by forming an opening in the second wall element. The holding element can be arranged as a U-shaped clamp which encompasses a front edge of the second wall element. A latching means can be provided on each limb of the U-shaped clamp on the inwardly facing side, so that the position of the holding element on the second wall element can be fixed. The latching means can be arranged in the opening of the second wall element. The holding element is preferably screwed together with the connector for simple mounting of the second wall element by way of the holding element. This can provide stable fixing of the second wall element on the connector without having to process the material of the second wall element in a laborious manner. Preferably, the connector comprises a web-like depression for inserting the holding element in the second wall element. As a result, the holding element can be slid into the depression, so that guidance of the second wall element and the holding element on the connector is provided and simple positioning can occur. In order to ensure that the connecting area is also arranged in a visually appealing manner, the holding element can be accommodated completely in the depression of the connector in the mounted position of the second wall element. As a result, the fastening means are not visible from the outside. The corner connection forms a non-positive connection between the first wall element and the second wall element. Forces can thus be introduced via the second wall element and the corner connection into the second wall element. In a further embodiment, a guide for inserting the first wall element is arranged on the connector. The first wall element can detachably be fastened to the connector via a latching element. Preferably, the first wall element is made from a sheet metal, so that simple mounting of the connector on the first wall element is enabled by using an additional latching element. The second wall element preferably consists of a hard material such as a plate made of glass, ceramics and/or stone, so that a simple connection is provided via the holding element and the connector. The latching element and the holding element are preferably made of an elastic material, especially plastic. The invention will be explained below in closer detail by reference to an embodiment shown in the enclosed drawings, wherein: Figs. lA and lB show two perspective views of an embodiment of a corner connection in accordance with the invention; Fig. 2 shows an exploded view of the corner connection of Figs. 1; Fig. 3 shows a sectional side view of the corner connector during mounting according to Fig. 2, and Fig. 4 shows a top view of the corner connector of Fig. 2. A corner connector 1, especially for a drawer, is used for connecting a first wall element 2 with a second wall element 3. The first wall element 2 can be arranged as the rear wall of the drawer for example and can be made of a bent sheet metal. The second wall element 3 is arranged as the side wall of the drawer or as an upper side frame attachment and consists of a hard material, especially of glass. As is shown in Fig. 2, the second wall element 3 is fastened by way of a holding element 5 to the connector 4. The holding element 5 is made of plastic in form of a U-shaped clamp, with one projection 6 each being arranged on the limbs of the holding element 5 on the inwardly facing side, which projection can be inserted into an opening 7 on the second wall element 3. The U shaped clamp can thus be inserted around a face side of the second wall element 3 in order to mount the second wall element 3 on the connector 4. As is shown in Fig. 3, the connector 4 comprises a receptacle 13 for inserting the second wall element 3, with a web-like depression 12 being arranged in the region of the holding element 5. The holding element 5 can be inserted completely into the web-like depression 12 in the mounted position, with an opening 9 for inserting a fastening screw 8 being arranged on a rear wall of the connector 4 on the side facing away from the second wall element 3. The fastening screw 8 is screwed into the connector 4 and the holding element 5 from the rear side in order to fasten the second wall element 3 in a stable manner to the connector 4. Webs 14 are arranged in a receptacle 13 in the connector 4 for the second wall element 3, which webs form a stop so that the second wall element 3 can be inserted with a face side only up to the webs 14. The holding element 5 protrudes beyond of the second wall element 3 and is fixed to the rear wall by means of the screw 8. The fixing of the first wall element 2 to the connector 4 occurs by sliding a face side the first wall element 2 on a guide 17 which is formed by two webs 19 arranged on opposite sides. Furthermore, a latching element 15 is provided which is made of plastic and is positioned in an upper corner of the first wall element 2. The latching element 15 is slid together with the first wall element 2 into the guide 17 until a resilient web 16 of the latching element 15 latches into an opening 18 on the connector 4. The first wall element 2 is secured in this position against being pulled out of the connector 4, with non-positive and positive fixing occurring by way of the latching element 15. In order to detach the first wall element 2 from the connector 4, the resilient web 16 can be pressed in by way of a tool so that the connector 4 can be pulled out upwardly along the guide 17. A mounted drawer can thereby also be dismounted again without having to destroy the connecting elements. The connector 4 is used for the detachable fastening of a second wall element 3 which is especially arranged as a side frame attachment and is arranged above a bottom side wall 20 which is fastened to the first wall element 2. In the illustrated embodiment, the fixing of the first wall element 2 occurs by way of a separately arranged latching means 15 which is slid into a guide 17 of the connector 4 together with a face side of the first wall element 2. It is naturally also possible to arrange the latching means integrally with the first wall element 2 so as to omit the arrangement of a separate latching means 15. The fixing of the second wall element 3 occurs by way of a holding element 5, wherein it is also possible to provide several openings 7 for several holding elements 5 in the case of larger wall elements 3, which can then preferably be fastened by way of several screws 8 to the connector 4.
