Description

1 Description Australia - Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT HOLLOW HOT DOG BAKING TRAY The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method or performing it known to me: Hollow Hot Dog Baking Tray The invention relates to an improvement in the standard hot dog roll or French roll baking tray to produce a hot dog roll , during the baking process with a feature of an indentation along its length that is used to hold a hot dog / sausauge and condiments firmly reducing spillage and leaking of the contents The assembly of a conventional hot dog is often an untidy task. One must slice open the roll or bun widely to allow for the sausage and condiments such as chopped onion , relish mustard and ketchup. The rolls open edge allows the contents to easily spill out onto hands and clothing. The assembly of the hot dog sandwich would be facilitated if the meat and condiments had an indentation to hold or grip the contents . This problem is overcome by the present invention which easily provides this indentation across the length of the hot dog roll at the optimal width and depth . The present invention is to be constructed of silicone coated metal of sufficient thickness to retain its integrity during commercial baking. The final design is composed of two metal trays affixed together. The two metal trays Fig 1 and Fig 2 are shown in the diagram . Fig 1 - this is the top tray and consists of parallel semicircular ridges shown planar. Fig 2 shows the bottom tray also shown planar 2 which is a mirror image of the top tray - it also includes smaller inverted U shaped raised metal ridges along the bottom of each tubular ridge The baking process involves placing the raw hot dog dough onto the metal ridges labelled as : in Fig 2 and then affixing the top tray Fig 1 to create the finished mold featured in Fig 3 . As the dough rises upward from the tray in Fig 2 to the tray in Fig 1 it creates an indentation in the roll and this size of the indentation can be adapted to fit various thicknesses and sizes of hotdog sausages or even sandwich fillings . The indentation created is longitudinal and is characterized as a groove in the middle of the roll . Fig 3 shows the assembled invention in a side view showing the metal ridges marked as and the top tray indicated in Fig 1 connected to the bottom tray indicated as Fig 2 .
