Description

Editorial Note There are only 4 pages of Description AUSTRALIA PATENTS Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION STANDARD PATENT MULTIPURPOSE PERSONAL COVER (MPPC) The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me.
MPPC Multipurpose personal cover Australia is a country which is surrounded by water, with the most beautiful beaches in the world. Not only do Australians enjoy this natural wonder along with its beach culture and water sports, but it also attracts people from all over the world. When people are active at the beach or at a camping ground, they do need to change clothes or do some other preparations which need privacy protection. The public facility is a choice, but public change rooms or toilets are very limited, especially in remote areas. In very crowded places or in high season, public facilities are not equal to the demand. In most cases, people use beach towels or other clothes to cover themselves when they are changing their underwear. Sometimes a small group of people share a small tent for their privacy needs. In the present time more and more advanced technologies combined with changing social sense has made privacy protection a serious issue. Beach towels or clothes are not enough to protect privacy and often cause embarrassment, this is because they are not designed for that job while tents are too big to carry and too difficult to set up. The device to be invented meets this issue for people's privacy protection. Like the name suggests it can be used in many occasions not only at beaches and can be shared with many people but only one person at a time. The multipurpose personal cover (MPPC) is to be invented for protecting people's privacy especially for people changing clothes or swimming suit at an open space. It uses strong fabric which blocks light and is water proofed with UV protection. It is easily carried and used just as easily as a beach towel but provides safe privacy protection as good as tents. It uses one or two (different versions see Fig. 1) spring steel (can use other materials like carbonyl) rings (6) to prop up the fabric in order to make room for convenience. The ring to be designed can be twisted 360 degrees to triple fold into a small size for easy storage and pops out for quick set up. For maximum strength, the section of the spring steel ring is rectangular, with the joint to be clamped in a steel camper (see Fig 2 for details). Plastic tubes are used for preventing rust. The MPPC (2) has a head opening with attached hood (1) fitted with zips or self stick strips and two arm exits (3) with shade (4). A two way pocket (5) on the front of the cover can be accessed from both inside and outside of the cover (2). It has two straps (7) at the bottom which are held down by the feet to stop swings caused by wind when it is in use. There are two small strap rings (8) for hanging purposes in case it is need. The MPPC can be made to a few different sizes to meet different human body shapes. A soft water bottle with plastic tube as accessories for making a mini shower can be attached as optional.

Claims (6)

1. A cover made from fabric with one or more hard circles to support a space which is convenient for changing cloths. See Fig 1.
2. The ring made from such materials which has a strong spring character for pop-up purposes (rebound to its original position) when it is released from the fold up position and stored in a bag.
3. Spring-steel with its rectangular section to be made into circles and in its joint use a clamper-like part made from steel for immobilizing both ends to prevent them from turning into each other (see Fig 2 for details). This design is to obtain maximum of strength of spring back to its original position when the ring is to be released from the fold-up position.
4. The cover (2) has a head opening on top with or without attached hood (1) and use zips or self stick strips for tying up or adjusting.
5. The cover has two arm exits (3) which are fitted with shades (4) for shielding purposes.
6. The cover has a two way pocket (5) on the front which can be accessed from both inside and outside and two straps (7) at the bottom of the cover for stopping swinging which may be caused by the wind. There are two small fabric rings (8) on top for hanging purposes just in case this may be needed.
