Description
AUSTRALIA Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT EMERGENCY MEDICAL VIDEO CLIP The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me: 5 1 Emergency Medical Video Clip In a medical emergency or automobile accident the individual is incapacitated too severely that they cannot communicate with first responders or emergency personnel. This limits their treatment to an emergency. This medical video clip contained on their wireless device can provide 10 important medical and identification information about the individual so they can be treated as quickly and as efficiently as possible resulting in a higher survival rate. There are various devices in the prior art which attempts to deal with such medical emergencies. The Medicalert bracelet is worn by the individual that displays limited information about their medical condition. This medical video clip holds more information and allows users to digest information more quickly 15 with visual and audio stimulation resulting in a faster response time. The present invention is an emergency medical video clip which can be downloaded to a variety of wireless devices such as a mobile phone. A bracelet is worn by the individual to notify others there is a medical video contained on the wireless device. The bracelet is fitted with a compartment that opens out to reveal the pin number that unlocks the security lock to access the wireless device. A 20 sticker is located on the back of the wireless device with instructions on steps to follow to access the medical video clip. The present invention can be incorporated with any wireless device which has video playing capability such as mobile phones. The process starts with a video clip of the individual which is shot with a video camera. The individual will talk about their medical condition and history, 25 followed by what to do in an emergency situation. The video clip also includes photographs of the box or container which displays the name of the medication the individual needs to take for their medical condition. Following this their will be text pages that displays the individuals name, address, date of birth, blood type, allergies: food or drugs, medications, implants: hip, knee, pace maker etc., whether they are an organ donor including which organs, carer: alerting they are a sole 30 carer for another person, emergency contacts phone numbers: doctor, family members, friends. The medical clip will then be edited and put in order according to the preference of the individual. This video clip will be downloaded to their mobile phone using a video converter and any other appropriate computer software which comes with the wireless device. The medical video clip also co-exists with a bracelet which is worn by the individual. This bracelet 35 notifies the first responder that there is a medical video clip located on the individuals' wireless device. The bracelet is fitted with a compartment which when opened out contains a pin number to open the security lock on the wireless device. This is done so the pin number cannot be seen in plain view for security reasons. A sticker is placed on the back of the wireless device with instructions on how to access the medical video clip.
5 2 Once the medical video clip is accessed it will play a video clip of the individual talking about their medical condition and history and also what to do in an emergency situation. It will then have an image of the medication that the individual needs to take for their medical condition. After this it will show a text page displaying relevant identification and medical information about the individual 10 as shown above. This medical video clip can be applied to any medical condition such as Diabetes, Asthma, Peanut allergies etc. The above and other advantages and objects to the present invention will become more apparent from the following description, claims and drawings in which: Fig 1. Illustrates a representative accident site with emergency medical assistance arriving at the 15 emergency scene and attending to the injured, unconscious individual. Fig 2. The front view of the wireless device, in this case a mobile phone. Fig 3. The front view of the bracelet worn by the individual. Fig 4. Shows text printed on the bracelet. This is to notify first responders that there is a medical video clip on their wireless device. 20 Fig 5. Shows the fitted compartment once opened reveals the pin number for the security lock on the wireless device. Fig 6. Shows the back of the wireless device where there are detailed instructions on how to access the medical video clip. Fig 7. Displays the medical video clip of the individual introducing themself and proceed to talk 25 about their medical condition and history followed by detailed instructions on what to do in case of an emergency. Fig 8. Shows a subsequent screen which has an image of the medication that the individual needs to take for their medical condition. Fig 9.
