Description
DESCRIPTION
Shoe Security Strap Women???s fashion shoes are available in a diversity of styles. In the workplace, where a uniform is not specified, the slide shoe (ie one not having a heel cover or back strap) may be the foot-ware of choice, yet this shoe may not provide the comfort and security needed, or required, for many work related activities. This invention is an innovation for backless women???s shoes which is an attachable/removable strap easily fitted to a variety of styles of women???s shoes. It effectively assists in securing fashion shoes to support safety and can be attached, without any damage or permanent alteration, to most backless women???s shoes, rendering them secure.
The shoe security strap is an elasticised strip with bar hooks and slide bar fittings which facilitate the attachment to backless shoes and which can be adjusted to ensure secure fit around the heel.
In accordance with this invention, the shoe security strap comprises a strip of elastic which is fitted at one end to a bar hook. The other end of said strip is connected to a bar slide. Said bar slide creates a loop of elastic on which there is second ???slideable??? bar hook. When said strap is held taut these bar hooks form the two ends of the shoe security strap. These two bar hooks facilitate the attachment to the shoe.
Each end of the security strap wraps around the shoe fittings (straps, bars, thongs etc) and each bar hook re-attaches to the elastic strap without damaging/altering the shoe fittings. Fit is adjusted and security of tension achieved by moving the bar slide to allow the elasticised loop to lengthen or shorten. Once the strap is attached and adjusted, the shoe is then secured by the strap???s fit around the heel.
The adjustable nature of the strap length, the nature of the slide and hooks and the strap???s elasticity, secures the shoe as it facilitates the variety of angles required for height up the ankle to achieve the desired tension to keep the shoe secure.
Said materials utilised in this invention are currently available in women???s fashion and are proven durable, available in a range of colours and can be laundered cheaply and easily.
The invention maybe better understood with reference to the illustrations of embodiments of the invention: Figure one: The Strap (inside view) A strip of elasticised material a bar hook at each end and a loop through a bar slide to allow for adjustment of heel tension.

Figure Four: Close up view of strap to shoe connection (inside view) D indicates the strap of the shoe where attachment occurs. E is the end of the elastic attached to the bar hook on the inside of the shoe. The elastic straps F wraps around the outside of the shoe and slides through the bar hook open end at G.
Claims (3)
1. A shoe security strap is an elasticised strip with bar hooks and slide bar fittings which facilitate the attachment to backless shoes and which can be adjusted to ensure secure fit around the heel.
2. A shoe security strap can as claimed in Claim One be adjusted in length to suit the structure of the shoe and the size of the foot.
3. A shoe security strap can substantially as herein before described with reference to Figures 1 4 of the accompanying drawings.
