Description
Furniture handle for a front panel The present invention relates to a furniture handle for a front panel, having a housing mountable on a front panel, on which a handle plate is retained. A piece of furniture is known from DE 25 16 744 Al, in which a handle element is inserted in a receptacle on the front panel. The handle element has a cavity, inwardly protruding projections being able to be grasped by the user when he inserts his finger into the handle element. Such a handle element has the disadvantage that the inner chamber of the handle element can be dirtied relatively easily, and a dark opening remains in the area of the handle element, which is visually unappealing. It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a furniture handle for a front panel which provides the front panel with a closed appearance and is protected against dirtying. This object is achieved by a furniture handle having the features of Claim 1. According to the invention, the handle plate is spring-loaded in the housing and after the handle plate is pressed in, an edge of the housing is graspable to open the front panel. The handle plate thus closes the housing, so that no dirt can accumulate in the housing. In addition, the handle plate is a closure means for the housing which provides a visually closed appearance, so that the front panel can have an essentially level contour. In particular, no dark openings thus occur in the area of the handle element. According to a preferred design of the invention, the handle plate is held pressed against a ring of the housing at the edge. The handle plate can thus be surrounded enclosed on all sides by the housing and is captively received on the housing. The handle plate can be implemented as circular or also as an oval, square, rectangular, or polygonal disc, so that it is possible to operate the furniture handle from different sides and no obstructive hinge is provided on one side.
2 According to a preferred embodiment, the handle plate and the housing each have a contact surface, which is implemented inclined to the plane of the front panel, for centering the handle plate. The handle plate is thus retained in a predetermined position, the inclined contact surface being able to be implemented inclined in an angle range between 300 and 600 relative to the plane of the front panel. In order to be able to install the handle easily on a front panel, the housing is closed by a cover on the side opposite to the handle plate. The furniture handle thus has a small number of components and can be installed easily. The spring is preferably formed by a foam element. On the one hand, this is cost-effective in production and, in addition, the handle plate can be pivoted in different directions in order to be able to grasp the ring of the housing. The foam element can be situated between handle plate and cover, and it is preferably glued to the handle plate and/or the cover. The furniture handle can thus also be installed as a prefinished unit in the front panel. The housing can either be fixed on a cylindrical through hole of the front panel, which results in simple installation, an inwardly protruding ring of the housing remaining externally visible. Alternatively, the housing is implemented as stepped and is fixed on a stepped through opening of the front panel. The visible area of the housing can thus be reduced to a minimum. The invention is explained in greater detail hereafter on the basis of two exemplary embodiments with reference to the appended drawings. In the figures: Figure 1 shows an exploded illustration of a first exemplary embodiment of a furniture handle according to the invention; Figures 2 and 3 show two sectional side views of the furniture handle of Figure 1; Figures 4 and 5 show two perspective views of the furniture handle of Figure 1; 3 Figure 6 shows an exploded illustration of a second exemplary embodiment of a furniture handle according to the invention; Figures 7 and 8 show two sectional side views of the furniture handle of Figure 6, and Figures 9 and 10 show two perspective views of the furniture handle of Figure 6. A furniture handle 1 can be installed on a front panel 2 of a piece of furniture, such as a furniture door, a flap, or a drawer, on which a cylindrical through opening 3 is provided. The furniture handle I comprises a housing 4, which can be fixed on the through opening 3. A handle plate 5 is received in a housing 4, which is pressed toward the front side by a spring in the form of a foam element 6. The housing 4 is closed on the rear using a cover 7. The furniture handle 1 is shown in the installed situation in Figure 2. The housing 4 has an inwardly directed peripheral ring 9 on the front side, so that the opening in the ring 9 is implemented as smaller than the diameter of the handle plate 5. The handle plate 5 has a middle section, which is implemented as thicker than a ring 8 projecting at the edge, which presses against the ring 9 of the housing 4. In the idle position, the handle plate 5 is pressed by the foam element 6 against the ring 9 of the housing 4, the diameter of the foam element 6 being smaller than the inner chamber of the housing 4. The furniture handle is closed on the rear by a cover 7, which is implemented as larger than the through opening 3 and overlaps an outwardly directed edge 13 of the housing 4 using an end section 14. The cover 7 can be fixed on the front plate 2 via one or more screws 15. In the starting position, a surface 12 of the handle plate 5, a surface of the ring 9 of the housing 4, and the front plate essentially form a common level surface, which can also be kept in a uniform color. The inner chamber of the housing 4 is protected against dirtying by the handle plate 5. If the front panel 2 is to be opened, the handle plate 5 can be pivoted against the spring force of the foam element 6, as shown in Figure 3. The ring 8 of the handle plate 5 is then lifted off of the ring 9 of the housing 4 and the user can now grasp the ring 9 from the inside and pull the front 4 plate 2 outward. Because of the circular implementation of the handle plate 5, it can be grasped and pressed inward at any arbitrary point. As soon as the opening movement is completed and the handle plate 5 is released, the foam element 6 presses the handle plate 5 back into the starting position, an inclined contact surface 10 being implemented between the thicker section of the handle plate 5 and the ring 8, which works together with an inclined contact surface 11 on the ring 9 of the housing 4 in order to center the handle plate 5. The handle element 1 is shown in the installed situation from the front side in Figure 4, only a narrow section of the ring 9 and the handle plate 5 being visible on the front panel 2, which are situated in a plane with the front plate 2 and thus provide a closed appearance. The furniture handle is shown from the rear in Figure 5, only the cover 7 having the fasteners being visible here, so that a closed appearance is also provided from the rear. A second exemplary embodiment of a furniture handle ' is shown in Figures 6 through 10, in which essentially the design of a through opening 3' on a front panel 2' and the housing 4' are modified. The handle plate 5, the foam element 6, and the cover 7 are implemented as in the first exemplary embodiment. As may be seen in Figures 7 and 8, the handle plate 5 is again pressed against a protruding ring 9 of the housing 4', an inclined contact surface 11 being implemented on the ring 9, which works together with the inclined contact surface 10 adjacent to the ring 8. In contrast to the first exemplary embodiment, the through opening 3' is no longer implemented as cylindrical, however, but rather comprises a step, so that the protruding ring 9 is partially received in the front panel 2' and only has a narrower ring section 16 protruding beyond a wall section 15 of the front panel 2' in the area of the housing 4'. The ring section 16 is implemented integrally on the edge 9. The opening and closing of the front panel 2' is performed by pressing in the handle plate 5 and moving back the handle plate 5 through corresponding spring force of the foam element 6.
5 The furniture handle ' is shown in the installed position in Figure 9 and almost only the handle plate 5 is still externally visible, which is situated in a plane with the front side of the front plate 2'. Only the narrow ring 16 of the housing 4' is still situated between the handle plate 5 and the front plate 2'. Only the cover 7 is visible on the front panel 2' from the rear (Figure 10). The handle plate 5 and the housing 4 are preferably implemented from plastic and may be made in the same color as the front plate 2, so that a uniform appearance results. Of course, it is also possible to manufacture the handle plate 5 and the housing 4 from metal, wood, or another material. In order to be able to install the handle element as a module, the foam element 6 can also be glued to the handle plate and/or the cover 7. This also prevents the foam element 6 from sliding downward upon opening of the cover 7, because it is held floating with greater play inside the housing 4.
