Description

DESCRIPTION
0 0 cxl PractiCare PractiPak (Hereafter PractiPak) is a blister pack medication management o tool.
PracitPak is divided into four separate time slots on a daily basis being morning, 0 noon, dinner and night. Each PractiPak card holds medication for one week, or one month depending on the packing system and medication administration system being Oimplemented. Each day is labelled down the side of the pack Monday to Sunday.
0 o PractiPak is a completely disposable system designed to be packaged by pharmacy and is suitable for use to ensure medication regime compliance and to minimise the 0 O spread of infection in facilities such as aged care, correctional facilities and hospitals as well as for general use in the community, including group homes for the disabled.
PractiPak is designed to work with our software which identifies the patient, their practitioner and the medications packed within each compartment and confirms the dose times required. The software generated label is adhered to the blank area on the front of the disposable blister pack.
The blisters are usually oval or round in shape; with either a domes or flat top. The pack is constructed in two parts, a board, usually constructed in cardboard, but potentially could be constructed in plastics, metals or compressed fibre materials which has adhered to it a injected moulded plastic or similar bubble to hold the medication. The blisters are constructed in a clear plastic material however any clear flexible material could be used for this purpose.
The two parts could be constructed in one material in one piece rather than adhered to each other.
The PractiPak is sealed when the pack is packed and the pharmacy applies either a heat seal foil or a cold seal foil sheet to the back of the pack. This seal is able to be printed on via our software identifying the medication enclosed. The software has the ability to print the medication held within each blister to meet best practice guidelines.
The heat seal foil or cold seal foil is designed so that the medication blisters do not have an adhesive surface in their interior maintaining the integrity of the medication.
