DATE 10/07/2007 This invention provides a casing for outdoor use of LPG Gas and Electric ovens, which will protect the ovens against external elements and will also result in a benefit for the environment by reducing emissions. These days more and more people are cooking with outdoor ovens. These ovens are mainly heated through the burning of wood, resulting in emissions of gases and smoke polluting the skies. The Good Wood Advisory Centre states that there is 6.1 million tonnes of firewood burnt each year in Australia. This invention can assist in reducing the amount of wood burning for outdoor cooking.
The outdoor kitchen is becoming a big thing nowadays; people wanting to entertain outdoors with more sophisticated cooking than just the BBQ or Webber. Outdoor wood ovens are becoming popular as it gives the food that smoky taste, particularly pizza. This invention can provide the smoky taste without polluting the atmosphere with undesirable emissions. This can be done by clients buying special wood chips and placing them in a tray in the oven while cooking; the chips will smoke to add the smoky flavour to the food. The resulting polluting emissions compared to a wood burning oven will be down approximately This invention is based on variable defined dimensions, enabling the casing to house any size of LPG/Natural Gas wall oven or Electric wall oven. Wall oven sizes covered are 600mm by 600mm, 450mm by 900mm and 450mm by 1200mm.
The casing has ventilation to let any excess heat to escape via the top flue, with the bottom back vent allowing for flow through. The casing allows the gas and electric wall ovens to be used outside. The casing houses and protects the LPG and Electric wall ovens from the sometimes harsh Australian climate. The casing construction material is masonry, which is fire and heat resistant and is waterproof.
