Description

AUSTRALIA
Patent Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATIONS INNOVATION PATENT ELEVATED FLOORING SYSTEM TWO The following statement is a full description of this invention including the best method of installation and placement known to me.
Page I ELEVATED FLOORING SYSTEM TWO There are many different types of floors, each with there own limitations, requiring considerable expertise to install at a professional level. This new flooring system is a completely new product an improvement from the already existing Patent 2006 100 789, easy to install by the average handyman, has unlimited colours, patterns, is durable and unlike tiles, can be restored too as new condition, if and when it wears out. It can have the look of tiles or parquetry, the warmth of carpet and the cushioned feeling of cork floors. It provides installation and will not crack due to ground movements. Can be made of recycled materials, is cost effective and attractive. If in future you have the desire to change the appearance of your Floor Pad(s) you can restore, as new or change entire colour appearance, using exact same Floor Pad. The finish of the floor pad is unique and customised in such away that there are unlimited designs finishes and patterns to accommodate all decors. With this system to remove any Floor Pads you will have to loose one Floor Pad to save all of them, because of the locking process. The beauty to this, it can be replaced and matched to former beauty for little cost. Where as with other flooring systems your lucky to save a handful or even restore.
THIS ELEVATED FLOORING SYSTEM TWO IS MADE UP BY FOUR COMPONENTS: FLOOR PADS: square or rectangular, long, short or wide all integrated for design effect purposes. Contrast and design, made of solid or rigid material, for a floor surface that is strong durable, restorable and attractive. Each floor pad base is secured with a BSIER, by way of screw affix to the base or the base can be routed the BSIER tool is then slid into place into the base.. The Floor Pad also acts spacer and a guide as a measuring tool. The Elevation runner is secured first in place and its attached partner the Border Strip remains in its locking position to be placed onto the elevation runner that is placed on the floor with the attached border strip facing down and positioned onto the underlay. The Floor Pad is then placed and locked into position. The BS/ER can be either screwed into the base the floor pad or routed out to slide in the floor pad.
UNDERLAY foam like material spaning the width of the area before BS/ER Floor Pads are laid down and locked in place also providing ground insulation.
The underlay is made from air bubble foam that has adhesion on one side which after correct positioning is then bonded to the floor.
CUP: This is used for he purpose of joining the lengths of the BS/ER to extend the area perimeter in which the floor pads are laid or raised and locked into place.
BORDER STRIPS AND ELEVATION RUNNERS (BSIER) they are one in the same Bonded together serving more than one purpose a long, strong and flexible plastic strip (for perimeter and area placement.) with square, rounded or octagonal cut out U shaped grooves and the upper arms of the U have a lip folding in making a base "the U shape is a lock base for support, strength movement for on ground and under ground repositioning' (ie the Floor pad or other BS/ER when resting on the elevation runner which is supported by the border strip as a union, rests on the base of the U shape lock, from two angles both the base (Border Strip) and the top (E!eyatin Runner) when movement adheres the U shape support acts like a spring withstanding movement, this creates a cushioning effect. The BSER is placed around the border of base of the Floor Pad as well as on top of the underlay.
Page 2 ELEVATED FLOORING SYSTEM TWO THE METHOD OF PROCEDURE IS AS FOLLOWS STEP Role and secure the underlay to the area of the floor perimeter.
STEP lay the perimeter of the floor area with BORDER STRIPS I ELEVATION RUNNERS securing adequate space between floor pads that a yet to be placed, (the Floor pads are used as a measuring tool in between spacing when in place with the Elevation Runner, the spacer is created) the strips (BSIER) are place on the floor sit loose, they are not fastened to the floor, this ensures corrects placement and easy manoeuvrability when placing unique designs and patterns for placement of Floor Pads.. As the BSIER is one unit long in length it is important to remember that the Border Strip when placed on the ground is always facing down and the Elevation Runners are always facing up. This ensures the correct placement and locking process, The placement of the first border, when placing the first lot of Floor Pads to the border, the Floor Pad should be attached to the BS/ER in its complete form, BS arms in its complete form should lock directly onto the ER siblings in its complete form. This strengthens Placement and the border. One BSIER per internal border, if you run out of length insert cip and connect extra length. Once the BSIER outline is laid the remaining BS/ER must be placed in one direction across the span of the room on top of the underlay, STEP In one direction place 1 BS/ER per two floor pads, until the process is complete (except, where the border, border strip run, those floor pads require two BS/ER, as it is the beginning of the Floor Pad process).
STEP Once BSIER is laid in either one direction of horizontal or portrait residency, place the Floor pad on top of the Elevation runner ensuring the outer BS arm clicks into place the U shape sibbling repeating the same process for the other floor pad. When the whole process is complete and you are left with the last floor pad, (this may need to be cut and the BS/ER adjusted on the base of the floor pad), the locking of this last floor pad will be a time the BS arms in its complete form should lock directly onto the ER siblings in its complete form, just as we did in the beginning of the initial border process.
