oo For many years I have been limiting the cleaning of my household benches, surfaces, showers due to the nasty chemical fumes that were associated with using cleaners bought from the supermarket, together with the added danger or my children being little and IDcurious, I was always wary of having these chemicals in a locked away cupboard.
4 After researching about homemade cleaners there was an ingredient that I had found to be an excellent grease cutter and sanitizer. The only thing that was off-putting about using it was its smell, this is where I did some research on using essential oils to mask it, with out lessening the effects of the cleaning ability. I added particular pure essential oils to mask the smell, after experimenting with different types, I have come up with the three essential oils that mask the smell the best, with the added benefits of therapeutic benefits claimed by traditional aromatherapy: Which are: Tea Tea oil (Melaleuca alterifolia) antifungal properties, antiviral, antibacterial Lime oil (Citrus aurantifolia) fresh and uplifting to the mind Mandarin oil (Citrus reticulata) promotes happy feelings The ratio of ingredients is 2 water to white vinegar and 10 drops of essential oil, to every 600 mls of water/vinegar solution. These may be any of the following, depending on smell preference tea tree oil, Lime Oil and Mandarin Oil The mixture will be bottled into a 600ml (recycled) plastic spray bottle and used as a surface sanitizing, deodorizing and cleansing spray for the kitchen, bathroom and toilet, also may be used for glass.
