Abstract
Carriage has a loading platform (2) in support with a single-track assembly (11) which is normal to the wagon and opposite-side paired extension (7) is located in the longitudinal direction of the wagon (5) and a drive is normal to it. The drives (9) are adjustable in the mounting position of the loading platform. The running border line (6) of the loading platform is parallel to car longitudinal direction.

AUSTRALIA Patents Act COMPLETE SPECIFICATION (ORIGINAL) Class Int. Class Application Number: Lodged: Complete Specification Lodged: Accepted: Published: Priority Related Art: Name of Applicant: Franz Plasser Bahnbaumaschinen-Industriegesellschaft m.b.H. Actual Inventor(s): Josef Theurer, Manfred Brunninger Address for Service and Correspondence: PHILLIPS ORMONDE & FITZPATRICK Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys 367 Collins Street Melbourne 3000 AUSTRALIA Invention Title: A TRANSPORT WAGON FR TRANSPORTING A GANTRY CRANE Our Ref: 754983 POF Code: 1203/1203 The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to applicant(s): 6006q 1A This application claims priority from Austrian Application No. A 1954/2004 filed on 22 November 2005, the contents of which are to be taken as incorporated herein by this reference. The invention relates to a transport wagon including a loading platform, mobile 5 on-track undercarriages, for transporting a gantry crane having crawler tracks. Such a transport wagon for a gantry crane having crawler tracks and provided for transporting simple track panels is known from EP 0 725 859 B1. In order to be able to also transport switches, though, the gantry crane must be configured for distancing the two crawler tracks farther apart in the transverse direction of the 10 wagon. However, this makes it necessary, when transporting the gantry crane on the transport wagon, to dismount the crawler tracks projecting beyond the clearance gauge. It is the object of the present invention to provide a transport wagon of the type mentioned at the beginning with which a simplified conversion between working 15 operations and a transfer position of a gantry crane carried on the transport wagon is assured. According to the invention, this object is achieved with a gantry crane mentioned at the beginning in that carrying plates - provided for support of a respective one of the crawler tracks and positioned opposite one another in pairs perpendicularly to 20 a longitudinal direction of the wagon - are arranged on the loading platform, the carrying plates being adjustable by drives perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the wagon and relative to the loading platform into a mounting position in which they project beyond a boundary line, extending parallel to the longitudinal direction of the wagon, of the loading platform. 25 A configuration of this kind is advantageous particularly in those instances when the two crawler tracks lying opposite one another in the transverse direction of the wagon can not be positioned within the clearance gauge for transfer travel. In such a case, dismounting the crawler tracks is a must. With the aid of the carrying plates, the crawler tracks can be displaced very easily - from a position lying within 30 the clearance gauge - in the transverse direction of the wagon until a problem-free connection to the gantry crane is possible. C \pof\ord\DOCument4 doc 2 Additional advantages and features of the invention become apparent from the further claims and the drawing. The invention will be described in more detail below with reference to embodiments represented in the drawing in which Fig. 1 shows a side view of a transport wagon loaded with a gantry crane, Fig. 2 shows a simplified top view of the gantry crane and the transport wagon, and Fig. 3 shows a simplified view in the longitudinal direction of the wagon. A transport wagon 1, visible in Figs. 1, 2 and 3, comprises a loading platform 2 and is mobile on a track 4 by means of on-track undercarriages 3. As viewed perpendicularly to a longitudinal direction 5 of the wagon, the loading platform 2 is delimited by two boundary lines 6 extending parallel to one another. Situated on the loading platform 2 are four carrying plates 7, of which two at a time are positioned opposite one another in pairs - in a transverse direction of the wagon extending perpendicularly to a longitudinal direction 5 of the wagon. Each carrying plate 7 is mounted on guides 8 for displacement in the transverse direction of the wagon. By transverse displacement which may be actuated by a drive 9, each carrying plate 7 can be shifted relative to the loading platform 2 from a transfer position, lying inside (see left side of Fig. 2), into a mounting position (see right side of Fig. 2). In the latter, the carrying plate 7 projects beyond the pertinent boundary line 6 (see Fig. 3). For transfer travel of a gantry crane 10 to a construction site, the crawler tracks 11 have to be detached from a chassis frame 12. This is the only way to preclude a violation of a clearance gauge. For connecting a crawler track 11 to a vertically adjustable vertical beam 13 of the chassis frame 12, the carrying plate 7, together with the crawler track 11 located thereon, is shifted into the above-mentioned mounting position. Subsequently, the chassis frame 12, which is connected by transverse beams 14 3 to a crane frame 15, is rotated about a vertical axis 16 until each vertical beam 13 comes to lie above a coupling 17 of a crawler track 11. After the latter has been connected to the vertical beam 13, the crawler tracks 11 are raised slightly off the carrying plates 7 by means of drives 18 of the chassis frame 12. When the carrying plates 7 have been displaced back into the transfer position, the crawler tracks 11 can be lowered unhinderedly onto a track bed by means of the drives 18 to afford mobility of the gantry crane 10. The transverse beams 14 are designed to be telescopically elongatable by drives in the known manner. Detaching the crawler tracks 11 from the chassis frame 12 and depositing them on the carrying plates 7 is carried out analogously in reverse order.
