O
Unlike the standard Inspection shaft cover, which falls away from the top of an inspection shaft. (As the earth settles, after backfilling around an inspection shaft of a drainage system) The Drop on Inspection Shaft Cover will remains on top of the iubpcction shaft, protecting and locating it, allowing access for inspection to the c drainage system. There is no need for a surrounding ring similar to the standard 0 c) inspection shaft cover however one can be installed if desired.
O The Drop on Inspection Shaft Cover in accordance with this invention comprises of a tapered cylindrical shape with a recess cast in the narrower end. The recess is round and deep enough to cover the Threaded Access Cap. The threaded access cap is o screwed to the top of the inspection shaft.
Ci Earth can be backfillcd directly against the Drop on Inspection Shaft Cover or concrete can be poured around the cover.
A tool is used for removing the Drop on Inspection Shaft Cover which keys onto a stud. The stud is located in a groove which is cast into the top of the cover.
The size of the cover is such that the amount of material used in construction will cover and protect the Threaded access cap and allow for enough strength so as not to crack.
The Drop on Inspection Shaft Cover is preferably made of a lightweight concrete composite however any other materials can be used, known or unknown. For example cast aluminum alloy or plastic.
The invention may be better under stood with reference to the illustrations of embodiments of the invention which: Figure 1 is an Isometric view Figure 2 is a plan view of 1 the Drop on Inspection Shaft Cover with 2 the groove and stud for removal.
