Replacement Page 1 HAIR DRYING3 NET - HAIR PROTECTOR CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS Not Applicable BACKGROUND - FIELD OF INVENTION This invention relates to Hair drying devices and accessories. The net can be used in combination with a hand held hair dryer to dry hair and cut down on hair drying time as well as containing loose hair within the net or simply to keep hair off the face whilst applying make-up or facial treatment. The present invention is a one-size-fits-all. Primarily intended for home use and In conjunction with a hand held hair dryer but is versatile and could be of Interest to the beauty, spa and hair care, catering/food handling Industry, hospitals and other related industries and services. BACKGROUND TO THE INVENTION The hair drying net came about due to a need to cut down on hair drying time for busy people as well as to help contain all loose hair that comes about when drying hair. This invention covers the hair in an easy to use pull on, pull off net placed over the head. One side of the net is pulled over the head via an elasticized opening, the other end also elasticized, is placed over the hair dryer air outflow nozzle. The cross strap is fitted over the back of the air inflow channel to keep the net connected to the hair dyer and in position. The hair drying net opening that fits over the air outflow nozzles is elasticised to custom fit most hand held hair dryers. See diagrams SUMMARY The present Invention provides a hair drying net that reduces hair drying time due to the concentration of air flow into the net. Can be used anywhere where hair drying, using a hand held hair dryer is required and helps to catch and contain loose hair within the net whilst drying hair. In its preferred embodiment, the present invention provides a net which has two openings, one smaller than the other, at each end, and both elasticized. The smaller of the two openings of the net, fits over the air outflow nozzle of most hand held dryers, is elasticized therefore allowing for custom fit. This opening also features a cross strap that fits under the rim of the air intake opening at the back of the dryer in order to keep the net in place, in a similar manner the cross strap is easily moved from its position In order to separate the net from the dryer.
OBJECTS AND ADVANTAGES Several objects and advantages of the present invention are: (a) To design an uncomplicated and versatile hair drying net that reduces hair drying time due to concentration of air within the net, therefore also reducing damage to hair (b) To design a hair drying net that captures all loose hair whilst drying hair with a hand held hair dryer (c) To design a hair drying net that allows user freedom to move hair and hair dryer around the head in order not to scorch scalp whilst drying hair, therefore giving hair more body (d) To design a net that allows the hair to dry within the hair drying net without having to comb the hair first therefore preventing damage to wet and tangled hair (e) To design a net that is easy to pull on and take off and Is a one-size-fits most (f) To design a hair net that can be manufactured by using current technology (g) To design a hair drying net to contain long hair within/to the net In order to stop long hair and loose hair being sucked into the air intake opening of the hair dryer whilst hair dryer Is in use (h) To design a hair drying net where the opening that fits over the hair dyer outflow nozzle Is elasticised allowing for custom fit to most hand held hair dryers. (I) To design a hair drying net whose construction is simple (j) To design a hair drying net that is inexpensive to produce (k) To design a hair drying net that is easily washed and dried (I) To design a hair drying net which can be folded flat and easily stored (m) To design a hair drying net which can be easily manufactured In different colours, embroidered with logos or otherwise personalized as a novelty. (n) To design a hair drying net that is comfortable and lightweight (o) To design a net to keep the hair off the face when applying make-up or facial treatment without crushing or flattening the hair (p) To design a net to keep hair back when used in a catering environment (q) To design a net to keep hair back when having a salon treatment or body treatment so as not to get the hair soiled by lotions used during the treatment (r) To design a hair net that is reusable due to its manufacture in natural fabrics (s) To design a hair net where air circulates In and out of the net. Due to weave of the fabric air is dispelled via this method (t) To design a hair net that helps to reduce the static in the hair when hair is dried in conjunction with a hand held hair dryer (u) To design a hair net that shields the forehead, face, nose, ears and neck from scorching heat from a hand held hair dryer 2 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The two figures in the drawings demonstrate how the hair net is wom and how it looks when not in use Fig t Shows hair net when not in use. The hair not is manufactured from any suitable fabric. By way of example, the hair net can be manufactured from a lightweight cotton fabric 16 with elasticized or rubberized edgings at openings 10 and elasticized cross-strap 14to custom fit all hand held hair dryers 18. These other fabrics include natural materials or synthetics. Referring again to Figure 1, the hair net Is seen to have a top and bottom elasticized edge 10, a common sem 12 and an elasticized cross strap 14. A common size for such the hair drying net is approximately 44 cm long, It will be apparent that the exact dimensions of the hair drying not Fig 1, may vary from these measurements without departing from the overall spirit and scope of the present invention. The finished product Is a one-sIze-fits-alL The description of the present invention has been made with respect to specific arrangements and construction of the hair drying net. It will be apparent that the foregoing description is for illustrative purposes only and that various changes and modifications can be made to the present invention without departing from the overall spirit and scope of the present invention. The fall extent of the present invention is defined and limited only by the following claims: 3 Additional Embodiments The hair drying net can be manufactured In various colours with designs and logos. It can be manufactured inexpensively in cotton or any other suitable fabric. ADVANTAGES From the description given, a number of advantages of the hair drying net become evident: (a) This net reduces hair drying time due to the concentration of air within the net and due to this energy consumption is also reduced (b) Captures any loose hair as hair is confined to the net whilst drying and not being blown around the room as would happen if the net were not in use and attaching itself to furniture and floors therefore cutting down on housework (c) Elasticized opening for head allows one size to fit all (d) This net stops long hair and loose hair being sucked into the air intake opening of the hair dryer whilst hair dryer is in use as hair is contained in the net (e) This net can be folded flat and conveniently stored anywhere (f) Easily washed in the washing machine or hand washed, no special care is required (g) This hair drying net is lightweight and comfortable (h) This net has no closures (I) Where the opening that fits over the hair dyer outflow nozzle Is elasticized allowing for custom fit to all hand hold hair dryers (J) Can easily be manufactured using current technology (k) This net is easy to pull on and take off (1) The net allows user freedom to move dryer around the head in order not to scorCh the scalp whilst drying hair as If there was no net, therefore giving hair freedom of movement and more body to hair (m)This net is inexpensive to manufacture and can even be made to be disposable if . need be (n) The hair drying net can be personalized by adding logos and manufactured in - different colours (o) This net can be used for different purposes such as keeping hair in place whilst dressing, keeping hair back whilst applying make-up or having a facial and keeping hair off the face when a treatment has been applied to the hair (p) Due to the prefered type of fabric for use in the manufacture of this net the net allows for free circulation of air when used in combination with a hair dryer and when used for other purposes (q) In order to dislodge loose hair caught within the hair drying net whilst drying hair, simply turn the net inside out and shake. 4 OPERATION The hair drying not is pulled over the head to rest on the forehead and behind the ears or over the cars, whatever is most comfortable for the wearer. Due to the elasticized opening for the head the net is sized to fit all. The air outflow nozle is inserted into the smaller of the two openings securing the cross strap to the back of air suction hole of the dryer in order to keep the net in place whilst dryer is in operation. The net protects the neck, face and shoulders of the user from any hot air from the dryer. Once the hair dryer is switched on, the net balloons allowing the air to circulate freely within the net thus also allowing for the free movement of hair whilst drying and any loose, dry hair to attach itself to the wall of the net. Elasticized opening expands to fit all hand held hairdryers and cross strap helps to keep net in place. Elasticized head opening allows for a customary fit over the head therefore suitable for use by adults and children. Once the hair is dry you may choose to just comb through or style as required. CONCLUSIONS, RAMIFICATIONS AND SCOPE The hair drying net can be made-up from a variety of fabrics. Claims (20)
1. A versatile, flexible hair drying net and hair protector to fit over the head of a user for distributing air onto a hair surface to be dried, when used In conjunction with and attached to a commercially available hand held hair dryer for the purpose of drying the hair, as well as a hair cover for protecting the hair; made from one piece of preferably lightweight cotton material of pre-determined length sewn together to form a tube; being substantially oversized with respect to a human head, with elasticized openings at both ends; comprising a net for receiving wet or dry hair as well as capturing and retaining all of the hair within the net; and by means of a back strap at the rear end opening of the net, to ensure that the hair net is kept in position when connected to the air outflow nozzle of a commercially available hand held hair dryer, that when in operation introduces drying air into the air space to the inside of the hair net, inflates the net allowing the hair to move freely within the net, catches all loose hair dislodged from the head within the net and due to the concentration of air within the net, drying the hair quickly, ready for styling if necessary.
2. The apparel as claimed in claim 1 wherein the said net is made from air permeable material of predetermined size and shape.
3. The apparel as claimed in claim 1 wherein the said net is manufactured from one piece of generally rectangular, air permeable material assembled with a seam to form a tube.

The apparel as claimed in claim 1 wherein the said net is manufactured having a top edge and a bottom edge where both edges are elasticised to form openings, one opening to receive the head of the wearer and the other opening to allow for receiving heated air under pressure from a commercially available hand held hair dryer.
5. The apparel as claimed in claim 4 wherein the said net is manufactured where the front opening is elasticized to fit over the head for a "One size fits all" model.
6. The apparel as claimed in claim 4 wherein the said net is manufactured where the rear opening is smaller to fit over the air outflow nozzle of a hand held hair dryer for a "One size fits all" model.

The apparel as claimed in claim 6 wherein the said net is manufactured where an elastic strap member is secured across the elasticized rear opening of the net, which fits over the mouth of a hand held hair dryer and wherein said strap is pulled over the mouth of the air outflow opening of a hand held hair dryer, to rest under the air inflow opening of a hand held hair dryer, which acts as a means for attaching and securing the hair drying net to a hand held hair dryer in order to keep the hair drying net in position during the hair drying process.
8. The apparel as claimed in claim 1 wherein the said net is manufactured from flexible and light weight material allowing for the hair to move freely within the net and not flatten the hair.

The apparel as claimed in claim I wherein the said net is manufactured from flexible and light weight material, allowing the wearer to manipulate the drying of the hair within the net by hand through the outer surface of the net during the drying process and whilst the hair net is in operation and attached to a hand held hair dryer.
10. The apparel as claimed in claim I wherein the said net is manufactured from flexible material allowing the wearer to move the hair around the head by touching the hair over the net when not attached to a hand held hair dryer.
11. The apparel as claimed in claim 1 is manufactured from a piece of air permeable material wherein the excess air within the net is expelled through gaps present in the weave of the fabric.
12. The apparel as claimed in claim 1 wherein all loose hair is contained within the net during the hair drying process whilst the net is in operation and connected to a hand held hair dryer by means of the elasticized back strap.

The apparel as claimed in claim 6 wherein the said net is manufactured where the rear opening is smaller to fit over the air outflow nozzle of a commercially manufactured hand held hair dryer thus blowing air into the hair net, causing the net to balloon and allowing the air to 1 circulate freely within the net, when the net is in operation and attached to a hand held hair dryer,
14. The apparel as claimed in claim 1 wherein the said net alows the user to move the hand held hair dryer freely around the head while the hair net is attached and in operation, thus allowing for even heat distribution.

The apparel as claimed in claim 5 wherein the said net is manufactured where the front opening is elasticized to fit over the head of the wearer in a "One size fits all" model, comfortably sealing the hair drying net to the head of the wearer thereby also protecting the forehead and nape of the neck from hot air affecting these areas.
16. The apparel as claimed in claim 7 wherein the said net is manufactured where an elastic strap member is secured across the elasticized rear opening of the net forming a loop which can be used to hang the net up when not in use.
17. The apparel as claimed in claim 1 wherein the net can be worn on its own as a hair protector to keep wet hair off the face or to keep hair off the face whilst applying make-up, facial treatments, hair treatments and body treatments.

The apparel as claimed in claim 1 comprises a centering means by way of the seam placement, of which is either on the top of the head or the back of the head so that when the hand held hair dryer is threaded into the net and in operation the net is inflated allowing air to be introduced into the net unimpeded.
19. The apparel as claimed in any of the preceding clnims, which is reversible.
20. The apparel as claimed in claim 1 wherein the said net can sit over hair-wrapped curlers. 2
