Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT KEBAB BAG WITH PERFORATIONS The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me: I1 Australia 2 9 MAR 2004 F0Pa4---- Page 1 KEBAB BAG WITH PERFORATIONS Foiled-lined kebab chicken bags, as they are generically known, are currently in usage in the fast food industry, and their general design, which has largely remained unchanged over the years, is as follows: A foil-lined paper bag designed to insulate the consumable contents as well as acting as a receptacle for holding the consumable contents, namely a kebab, chicken roll, or any other flat bread or bread roll with filling enclosed.
The purpose of this design is to improve on the functionality of the existing kebab/chicken bag (or any other type of paper bag designed as a consumables enclosure), by the inclusion, during the manufacturing process, of lined perforations located on various locations on the bag.
The perforations have been designed to enable easier opening of the bag, and better manipulation of the product inside the bag, (generally a kebab or chicken roll, although not excluding any other consumable). Currently, foiled kebab bags do not have perforations and the consumer often forcibly rips open the bag in order to access the contents, which because of the strength of the foiled lining does not tear cleanly, in which event, the tear may unintentionally continue through to the base of the bag, thereby causing inadvertent leakage of the product inside.
The advantage of the perforations is that the consumer can easily tear along these as they consume the product. The tear is neat and controlled, and the consumer has the choice of either discarding the tear-off section or wrapping this neatly around bag.
The perforations themselves would be of a small gauge capacity so that the integral strength of the foil bag would not be compromised in any way by the perforations.
Because the perforations finish at a point at least one quarter of the length of the bag from the bottom seam, it is not envisaged that there would be any increased likelihood of leakage from the contents inside of the bag because of the perforations.
Nor is it envisaged that the action of tearing the perforations would result in any heat loss because the discarded sections can be used to wrap around the consumable and/or the bag itself, further helping to insulate the consumable or bag, if this was desired.
