Method of adapting a bag-type package (1), as defined in claim 1, to allow the insertion of a straw (20), the method CHARACTERIZED by the fact that it comprises: providing the bag-type package (1) , arranging in said upper corner part (6) the opening initiation (7) along which the flap (8) must be separated for opening the package (1), by means of which a straw (20) is inserted into the package (1) after separating the tab (8) by placing a straw end (19) of the straw (20) on the exposed wall section (18) of the inner surface of the first side wall (2) and laterally pressing the section of exposed wall (18) while pushing the straw (20) into the package (1).

Method, according to claim 10, CHARACTERIZED by the fact that the step of arranging the opening initiation (7) in said part of the upper corner (6) is carried out by forming the first and second lines of rupture (12, 13) into a web of packaging material which is subsequently converted to bag-type packaging (1).
