Abstract

The invention relates to a method for determining the course of a drop in tension to be expected for a strip in a printing unit. According to the invention, essentially the same tensions are first adjusted without ink and without a humidifying agent, in a printing position in front of and behind the printing unit; ink and optionally a humidifying agent are then added; a value for the tension behind the printing unit is measured once essentially stationary conditions have been achieved; and on the basis of at least one of the pairs obtained in this way for the tension values, a fictitious course of the drop in tension caused by the humidity in the printing unit is established according to a tension, by means of linearisation of a tension-extension dependence, at least in sections. Said course can be used in a method for adjusting tension in front of and/or behind the printing unit.
