Abstract
High strength molded body plastically deformable at room temperature is made from a material having the formula: TiaE1bE2cE3dE4e (where, E1 = Ta, Nb, Mo, Cr, W, Zr, V, Hf or Y; E2 = Cu, Au, Ag, Pd or Pt; E3 = Ni, Co, Fe, Zn or Mn; E4 = Sn, Al, Ga, Si, P, C, B, Pb or Sb; a = 100 - (b + c + d + e); b = 0-20; c = 5-30; d = 5-30; e = 1-15) and optionally additives and impurities. Preferred Features: The molded body has a structure with a homogeneous micro-structure and comprises a glassy or nano-crystalline matrix with an embedded ductile dendritic cubic space-centered phase. A third phase of maximum 10% is also present. The volume amount of the dendritic cubic space-centered phase is 20-90, preferably 50-70% in the matrix. b = 0-15, c = 20-25; d = 15-25; e = 5-10. The length of the primary dendrite axes is in the region of 1-100 microns and the radius of the primary dendrites is 0.2-2 microns.
