BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Embellishment of the skin has become more fashionable and removable transfers, paint and glitter are popular especially among young women. Tattoos are regarded somewhat differently because they are permanent. In this specification the term "tattoo" means a 2003-O23 A:2SgrcrainnpaLwpd.I picture drawn on the human skin with a dark outline. Colour and shading are optional but usual. The subjects vary but traditional motifs are widely seen. The popularity of tribal and Celtic motifs especially when drawn as a ribbon or band encircling the arm or in women at the base of the spine has increased. In this specification, the term waistband means the top edge of the undergarment, whether there is just an elasticated border or a recognisable waistband.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION This invention provides a women's undergarment with a waistband, wherein the dorsal portion of the waistband and the portion adjacent the dorsal portion depict a tattoo on a background of flesh coloured fabric.
Usually the fabric will be knitted and the waistband elasticated. Not all the garment need be flesh coloured, but preferably the uppermost part which is visible when skirts and jeans are worn of the type that rest low on the woman's hips. The tattoo may extend over that dorsal part of the waistband and the portion which overlies the base of the spine across the top of the buttocks where the tattoo is commonly applied. The tattoo may be T-shaped following the cleavage of the buttocks. In g-string undergarments, the tattoo is therefore T-shaped in outline from the dorsal aspect just like the fabric, whereas the front of the garment and crutch may be conventional.
The presentation of the tattoo is to give the impression to the viewer that the wearer has a genuine tattoo albeit only a part of it is seen, the rest being covered by the skirt, shorts or trousers. Accordingly, the tattoo may be applied to flesh coloured knickers of any shape if they have fabric in the area where the tattoo is commonly applied.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS One embodiment is now described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:- Figure 1 is a dorsal view of a woman's waist showing the zone in which a base of the 2DO3-05-23,A:AZW8grcbca npaawpd.2 -3spine tattoo is commonly applied.
Figure 2 is a rear view of the garment showing the area of the tattoo and the skirt top line.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION WITH RESPECT TO THE DRAWINGS The garment is a g-string type with an elasticated waistband 2 and elasticated legs 4. The tattoo is in black outline 6 with blue and purple shading 8. The extent of the visibility in use is shown by line In dim lighting the garment gives the viewer the impression that the wearer has a skin tattoo.
We have found the advantages of the above garment to be:- 1. The expense and inconvenience of a tattoo is avoided.
2. The wearer can choose to wear a variety of tattoos.
It is to be understood that the word "comprising" as used throughout the specification is to be interpreted in its inclusive form, ie. use of the word "comprising" does not exclude the addition of other elements.
It is to be understood that various modifications of and/or additions to the invention can be made without departing from the basic nature of the invention. These modifications and/or additions are therefore considered to fall within the scope of the invention.

Claims (3)

1. A woman's undergarment with a waistband, wherein the dorsal part of the waistband and the adjacent portion beneath depict a tattoo on a background of flesh coloured fabric.
2. A woman's undergarment as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the undergarment is a g-string.
