Abstract

The invention relates to a button for sewing onto textile materials in particular, such as items of clothing. Said button has at least two holes (3) for the sewing thread and is specially configured in such a way that the thread end that is formed during the sewing-on process, when the sewing thread is cut, is embedded in the thread bundle between the holes (3) and secured so that the thread end no longer protrudes and cannot cause the button to work itself loose and drop off. The inventive button can be produced in many different external shapes and functional variants. In each case, a receiving channel (8) which is provided between the holes (3) and which is open in the direction of the top surface of the button (1) ensures that the thread end is secured.
