Abstract

A process for compression moulding semi-crystalline polymers, comprising the following operations: bringing the material to a temperature exceeding the polymer melting point TF; cooling the material to a temperature TLAV close to but higher than the temperature TIC at which crystallization commences during cooling; feeding measured quantities of material into a mould operating by compression; forming the article while maintaining a temperature close to TIC; cooling the article and extracting it from the mould.
