Abstract
An apparatus for the detection of biomolecules and polymers in samples comprising: (a) an array of test samples (T1, T2 ...) each of which contains a specific molecule; (b) an illuminating system consisting of an array of separate light sources (B1, B2 ...) arranged so that each sample is illuminated by only one light source; and (c) a detection system for detecting which test samples interact with the molecule to be detected, is new. An independent claim is included for detecting biomolecules and polymers using the apparatus.
