Abstract
In a method of connecting a rod element (1, 3) to an aluminium section (2), which has two longitudinal locking grooves (4), at an arbitrary connection point along the length of the aluminium section, a connecting part (3) made from an aluminium sectional element and a tubular part (1) are used as the rod element. The connecting part (3) has two mutually opposite legs with longitudinal locking beads (6) which have a cross-sectional shape corresponding to the cross-sectional shape of the locking grooves (4) and suitable for pressing into the locking grooves for forming a cold press weld joint. The connecting part (3) is arranged in such a manner on the aluminium section (2) at the connection point that the locking beads (6) on its two legs are positioned directly in front of the locking grooves (4) of the aluminium section (2), whereupon the legs of the connecting part (3) are deformed in such a manner that their locking beads (6) are pressed into the respective locking grooves (4) and thus form a cold press weld joint therein. The tubular part (1) is then slipped over the connecting piece (3).
