Abstract

The invention relates to a method and system for monitoring speech and/or data network connections irrespective of location by a commissioning agency. Said method and device can be used by the Federal Criminal Investigations Bureau, the Federal State Criminal Investigations Bureau, Customs Office, Office for the Protection of the Constitution etc, after said authorities have first received appropriate judicial authorization. More particularly, the invention relates to the implementation of said method as cited in one of the claims. The inventive system comprises a processing device (12) which incorporates a device for the passive switching off of at (36) least one monitored bidirectional speech and/or data network connection (26), a device (40) for synchronizing data transfer protocols and data frames, a device for the selection, localization and separation of synchronized protocols and/or data originating from a device for reading relevant monitored data, events and series of events, a transmitter device (14) connected to said processing device (12) and a receiver device (18) which communicates with the transmitter device (14) in order to separately transmit and receive read data, events and the sequences of events from the transmitter device (14) to the receiving device (18) via two separate channels (20, 20') in at least one transit network (16) to the receiving device (18). Said transmission is undertaken in order to process and collect separately transferred data, events and series of events at a place designated for the evaluation of said results.
