Engaging tongue for a catch closure capable of being screwed in to switch cabinet doors or the like, with a central part (48) fastened in a manner that prevents it from turning to the end of the actuating shaft (14), from which extends away radially as part of the same piece a lever part (50) that changes at the end into a tongue part (52) that forms a friction surface (56) essentially in the shape of an arc running round the actuating shaft axis, habing an engaging slope (58) in the direction of both ends, characterised in that at the transition between tongue part (52) and lever part (50) a constriction (62) is provided on one side in which the circular cross-section (64) of a fastening nut (34) for the catch closure is capable of being accommodated in such a way that it can be pusched over the tongue part (52), the lever part (50) and the central part (48) up to the fastening thread (36) of the closure.
