Abstract

A pipetting apparatus consists of a housing with a handle (1) and a pipette holder (17) for a pipette (19). A suction device serves for drawing a liquid into the pipette (19). A further device, by means of which the reduced pressure on the apparatus side is brought back to atmospheric pressure, serves for discharging a liquid drawn in from the pipette. To improve such a pipetting apparatus, a piston (6) provided with a press button (8a) for discharging a liquid is guided for longitudinal movement in the handle (1). The piston (6) passes through a sealing ring integral with the housing. On the side of the press button (8a) away from the sealing ring, an outflow space (43) connected to the pipette holder (17) is provided in the housing (1, 2). At its end away from the press button (8a), the piston (6) has a first region corresponding to the diameter of the sealing ring and an adjoining second region in which the diameter decreases in the direction of the press button (8a) (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
