Abstract

The device is used to monitor the keyboard (2) of a keyboard instrument. By means of the device, the force-distance ratio for the individual keys (6, 7) is determined. Provided above the keyboard (2) is a guide rail (1) on which a stepping motor (4) is displaceably mounted. The spindle (5) of this stepping motor (4) is directed towards the individual keys (6, 7) and is displaceable against the latter by steps. This spindle (5) is further fitted with a pressure- sensitive sensor (8). The sensor (8) and the drive of the stepping motor (4) are connected via an electronic control device to a recording unit (stylus and/or printer) which records the force necessary to depress the key, as a function of distance. From the recordings and/or diagrams thus produced, it is possible to determine whether the keyboard is in order or requires to be overhauled or even repaired. <IMAGE>
