Abstract

The cable has at least one power conductor (1), a conductor insulation, and an outer section with a cable sheath and cable members underneath, such as a screen, braiding, or reinforcing. The inserted optical fibres may be formed by multi-core strands surrounded by a protective plastics sleeve. The signalling optical fibres or their strands (NL) are surrounded by a protective jacket. They are inserted of stranded sector cores of full or hollow cross section, forming the power conductor of the cable. With a multi-core cable, they may be inserted into the intermediate core space and/or in the outer region (5-7) of the cable. A temp. sensor optical fibre (TS) and the tensile sensor fibre are fitted with a separate sleeve and similarly incoporated in the cable structure.
