To improve the efficiency and reliability of this locking furniture and, especially, of its blocking device (30), the latter consists of means (33) making it possible to shift the pivot axis (17) of the movable handle (6) during the manipulation of the locking furniture (1), in order to change the direction of rotation of said movable handle (6) under the action of the elastic return means (25). <IMAGE>
