Abstract

At a signalling line (ML), several different types of detectors (M1...Mi) are located which are cyclically interrogated (AZ) for their respective analog detector measurement values from the central station (Z). Each detector exhibits a sensor circuit (SES) comprising a sensor (S) and a socket circuit (FS) which are connected to one another via a contact pair (K1 and K2). To recognise the different types of detectors (IRM,ORM,WM), identification interrogating cycles (KAZ1 and KAZ2) are carried out with a closed-circuit voltage (UR2) which is changed compared with the regular closed-circuit voltage (UR1) or with the measuring voltage (MZ2) which is changed compared with the regular measuring voltage (MZ1), at predeterminable time intervals. The identification of the respective detector is determined from the detector measurement values occurring during this process, which are changed compared with the regular measurement values, and stored for the relevant detector for further processing or evaluation in a memory in the central station. <IMAGE>
