Abstract

1. A container comprising a removable lid (10) which closes the container opening and the lower part (12) of which can be separated from the remainder of the lid (10) via a predetermined breaking point (15), where the said lower part (12) is provided with an undercut (14) which engages around the projecting edge of the container opening and whilst the predetermined breaking point (15) remains intact prevents the lid (10) from being removed from the container (1) in that the undercut (14) abuts against the projecting edge, characterised in that the lid (10) is engaged with an insert (5) which is inserted into the container opening so as to be removable, the undercut (14) is adjoined by a tapered surface (13) which extends outwardly to the edge of the lower part (12) of the lid (10), the lower edge of the insert (5) has an inwardly directed tapered surface (18) and the lid (10) together with the insert (5) can be inverted onto the container opening.
