Abstract

The invention relates to a method and device for forming a bar stock (1), wherein the bar stock (1) with a first diameter (3) is supplied first to a forming tool (2) circulating in the circumferential direction of the bar stock (1). There, the bar stock is reduced to a smaller second diameter (11) by the circulating forming tool (2) and then bent by a deflection device (4) disposed downstream of the forming tool (2), the bar stock (1) being bent in the region of an influence zone (5) of the forming tool (2).
