Abstract

The support and vibration damping system may be used to strengthen an existing wooden floor in a building. It has a support block with a central beam (20) pressing on the midpoint of the plastered underside (16,18) of the floor. The beam is positioned under a main existing floor support beam (10). There is a spring member (24) under and extending either side of the beam, covered with sound insulating material (26). The beam and sound insulation are supported on a length adjustable rod standing on a broad foot resting on the underfloor.
