Abstract

The fuel injector (1) has a displacement device, which carries out opening and closing motion in a movement axis (2). A measuring device (5) is formed as an inductive sensor and the measuring body, partly surrounds a displacement device in the area of a geometry modification formed in movement direction in order to receive an end of the injector in the combustion chamber (4) or the end stop of the opening stroke.
