Abstract
A particle filter for cleaning motor vehicle exhaust gases has pot shaped inlet channels (9) with end bars into which particle-laden exhaust gases (3) flow and parallel adjacent outlet channels (10). An electric heater (15) in the base of the outlet channels burns off layers deposited in the pores (13) between the channels.
