Abstract

An inking system for print rollers has a simplified multi path design using a minimum of five rollers. The ink is applied to a main inking roller (01) in contact with two pick up rollers (08, 09). At least two transfer rollers (11, 12), each in contact with the pick up rollers and the print master roller (04), transfer the ink in two or more paths to the print master roller. The main inking roller and the master print roller rotate in opposing directions. The main ink flow is via the first pick up roller and first transfer roller and the ink layer is smoothed by the second, and third, ink paths to produce an even quality ink pattern for high quality printing.
