Abstract

The present invention relates to the field of structural engineering and to a bed frame with accessory support wherein the bed frame is either originally integral with the bed or an add-on equipment for a predetermined bed and wherein one or a plurality of accessory supports are provided which cooperate with the bed frame. The accessory support is secured to the length of the bed frame but it is horizontally movable by means of rollers (casters with concave rolling surface, casters, casters with planar rolling surface), the rollers being displaceable in corresponding guides on the length of the bed frame (over and under or on the inner side). The accessory support is provided with devices to fix in a stable but releasable way auxiliary instruments or accessories (tray, instrument holder, cabinet elements such as night-tables, etc.). In a preferred embodiment, the devices of the accessory support are comprised of a row of holes configured in a semi-circle in the upper or lower region and tenons arranged in the lower or upper opposite region. The bed frame with accessory support may preferably be used for hospital beds, and beds for the disabled in old people's homes and dispensaries.
