Abstract

The invention relates to a method and a corresponding device for removing packing from a cylinder of a printing press, said packing having a leading end and a following end in relation to the production direction of the cylinder. A suspension limb is configured at least on the leading end, said limb being bent at a maximum angle of 90 DEG in relation to the length of the packing and being hooked into an opening in the cylinder. The following end of the packing is detached from the cylinder and guided against a stop that is placed at a distance from the cylinder by a rotation of the latter counter to its production direction, whereby the packing hits the stop and the impact causes the suspension limb at the leading end of the packing to be detached from the opening in the cylinder.
