Abstract

A steel containing carbon, silicon, manganese, chromium, aluminium, sulphur and phosphorus, characterized in that it has the following chemical composition in percentage by weight : C/0.05-0.30 Mn/0.50-2.00 Si/0.10-0.80 P/=< 0.100 S/0.01-0.10 Cr/0.50-6.00 Ni/0.10-2.00 Mo/0.10-0.50 Al/0.20-2.00 Ca/0.001-0.010 Te/0.003-0.020 and possibly at least one of the elements selected from the group comprising vanadium, niobium and titanium to about a total of 1% by weight, the residue being iron with the usual inevitable residual impurities.
