Abstract
An induction cooking system including a power inverter (10), a microprocessor (18), a protection circuit (15) and a pan detection circuit (17) is provided. The power control, timing and a monitoring of the power inverter circuitry (10) is managed primarily by a microprocessor (18). Also an additional analog protection circuit (15) is provided to protect the system against hazardous conditions, such as over current and inappropriate gating signals that may be resulted by the malfunction of the microprocessor (18). So that main disadvantage of a system controlled primarily by a microprocessor is eliminated. Another circuit (17) for detection the presence of the suitable cookware is provided.
