Abstract

The invention relates to a cleaning appliance comprising a housing that houses a steam generator (16). This steam generator comprises an electrically heatable steam boiler (18) for generating steam that can be applied to a surface to be cleaned. The aim of the invention is to improve the design of the cleaning appliance by providing it with an improved thermal insulation of the steam generator and enabling it to be economically produced. To this end, the invention provides that the steam generator (16) comprises a thermal insulation part (20), which has a rigid wall (38, 40) and which surrounds the steam boiler (18) at least in areas while forming an intermediate space (42, 48) between a wall (38, 40) of the thermal insulation part (20) and the steam boiler (18).
