Abstract

The invention relates to a device for dividing a continuous sequence of articles (12), especially of the tobacco-processing industry, especially cigarettes. Said device comprises an especially continuous conveying device (10) with a plurality of receptacles (13) for receiving a sequence of articles (12) and at least two take-off conveyors (14) downstream of the conveying device (10) for taking off parts (17) from the continuous sequence of articles (12). The invention further relates to a method for adjusting the position of at least one take-off conveyor (14) which is mounted downstream of an especially continuous conveying device (10) for conveying a continuous sequence of articles (12) and which is used to take off parts from the sequence of articles (12). A number n of articles (12) is taken off from the sequence by means of at least two take-off conveyors (14) to be inserted into one pouch (22) each of a collecting conveyor (19), whereby the number n of articles (12) defines the length of a block. The inventive device is characterized in that the at least two take-off conveyors (14) are spaced from each other by a distance that is variable and adjustable. The inventive method is characterized in that the center distance (40) of the at least two take-off conveyors (14) corresponds to an integer multiple of the two-fold block length plus or minus the number of articles (12) to be taken off by the take-off conveyor (14) whose position is adjusted.
