The invention concerns a method for making a welded tube, comprising a final drawing or hydroforming step, characterized in that in consists in: preparing an alloy consisting in wt. % of: C </= 2 %; Mn between 10 and 40 % with %Mn > 21.66 - 9.7 %C; Si </= 5 %; S </= 0.3 %; P </= 0.1 %; Al </= 5 %; Ni </= 5 %; Mo </= 5 %; Co </= 3 %; W </= 2 %; Cr </= 5 %; Nb </= 1 %; V </= 1 %; Cu </= 5 %; N </= 0.2 %; Sn </= 0.5 %; Ti </= 1 %; B </= 0.1 %; each of the Ca and Mg contents </= 0.1 %; each of the As and Sb contents </= 0.1 %; casting it as semi-product, a) either in the form of an ingot which is then roughed down to be transformed into a slab, or directly in slab form, said slab being then hot-rolled in the form of a strip and then coiled; b) either in the form of a thin strip; in scouring the strip if the latter is oxydized at the surface; making a welded tube by forming a metal sheet cut from said strip to bring together its edges until they abut, then by welding said edges, then by eliminating the weld bead, then by cold drawing or hydroforming.
