Abstract

The shin guard (10) has a shin pad (12) with a holder strap (14,16) to fasten it positively to the calf relative to the forces acting in longitudinal ankle direction. A traction element (24,28) fastened in/directly to the shin pad, limits movement of the foot relative to the calf, by traction and pressure force transmission between pad and shoe or foot. Limiting the foot movement limits and/or slows down at least one accident-causing movement, esp. inversion/ supination and/or eversion/pronation of the foot.
