Abstract

Process for controlling surface evenness of a metal sheet (1) during rolling, especially reducing rolling, comprises pre-determining the heat requirement of the regions of the rollers (2, 3) near the sheet edges and independently controlling a device (4) for at least partial heating of the rollers. An Independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the above process. Preferred Features: The heat requirement of the zones of the rollers near the sheet is pre-determined. A flatness determination to improve the pre-determination of the heat requirement determines a flatness value of the metal sheet after rolling, especially using a flatness-measuring roller (6). The control (5) pre-determines the heat requirement by at least partial continual process simulation.
