Abstract

The clamp is suspended from a connecting part (17) which can be rotated when retracted. At least one hydraulic switching valve (5, 6) in the clamp can be operated by a cam. The locking pin for altering the size of the clamp, depending on the size of the brick package being handled, is manipulated by lowering the clamp to the floor and allowing the crane to drop several centimetres, which disengages the rotary part (3) of the crane and allows it to rotate freely in order to operate the cam for the switching valve. The rotary part is then rotated into the lifting position and the clamp is raised, causing the clamp cylinder (9) to be activated for picking up the brick package.
