Abstract

The invention relates to a heat recovery apparatus (10) which comprises a heat transfer space (11) into which at least two separate heat exchangers (12,13) are provided successively in the gas flow direction, a gas inlet (18) and a gas outlet (19), and at least two separate heat transfer medium flow circuits (311,312,301,302). The heat recovery apparatus (10) comprises means for altering the direction of gas flow (14,15,20,21) in the heat transfer space (11) and means for connecting (211,212,213,214; 221,222,223,224) heat transfer medium flow circuits selectively to either of the at least two separate heat exchangers (12,13). The invention also relates to a method of minimising fouling in a heat recovery apparatus. <IMAGE>
