Abstract

The device for secret transmission of data e.g. PIN numbers between a generator and a receiver has a first data set e.g. the allocation number and a second data set e.g. the card number. These are both provided by the generator and are stored in a memory of the generator. A third data set e.g. the desired PIN number is generated by the generator. A transmitter device transmits the first data set from the generator to the receiver and transmits the third data set together with the first from the receiver to the generator. The device also includes a data processor into which the three data sets are input and in which they are associated with each other e.g. by a mathematical operation.
