Abstract

1. Process for the series production of heater tubes, wherein a metal tube is evacuated, filled in an accurately measured way with a working medium and is sealed vacuum-tight, in order to form a heater tube, characterised in that this heater tube (1), either before or after filling with the working medium (3), is shaped into a coil or meander, that the individual windings are heated in the zone containing liquid working medium and are cooled in the zone containing vaporous working medium, until the working medium is uniformly distributed over all the windings, and that the individual windings are separated into single pieces by a severing cut, preferably in the zone of the vapour phase, with uniform vacuum-tight sealing of the severing planes, to give a plurality of made-up heater tubes.
